Lessons are offered to boarders on their own horses. Using her dressage background, Sandy works with riders to advance their skills as well as gives instruction on how to improve the horse. Harmony between horse and rider is the goal. The unique needs of each pair are addressed during one hour private lessons. Whether you wish to show at lower-level dressage, have a more obedient horse, or develop your riding abilities, Sandy is willing to help you out. She will often get on her student's horse to assess issues or demonstrate the correct way to solve a problem.
Many boarders opt for a combination of partial training and lessons. The frequency can be customized for each individual. Many people don't have the time to ride as much as necessary to keep their horse in top condition. Sandy can school your horse on days you cannot make it to the barn. Lessons are more meaningful to the owner when the horse is fit enough to do the job. Additionally Sandy can prep the horse and rider for shows.
Sandy Kantor accepts students whose horses are kept elsewhere as scheduling permits. Riders may trailer to Schocharie Ridge Farm for lessons using the beautiful indoor and outdoor arenas.
Cost of a single 45 minute lesson is $50. Lessons can be incorporated into a training package at a small additional charge.
Other instructors are welcome on a limited basis. Boarders may schedule ring time at Schocharie Ridge Farm for a lesson with an outside instructor for a $15 fee.
Several times a year top level instructors hold clinics at Schocharie Ridge Farm. These events are open to the public to either ride in or audit. For current information, visit the LVDA events page.
